hi anna,

the file you named is an asteroid file which is not installed per default, but has to be downloaded from ftp.astro.ch
the file is one of more than 11.000 files that allow to calculate asteroids of all kinds. this one will have to be put into a folder named ast2 in the SwissEphemeris Folder.

please have a close look at the online tutorial at http://kairon.cc for details and screenshots, section "asteroids".

if you encounter further difficulties following that tutorial, please don't be shy to ask again :-)

well, if that folder was not there, you should have received a dozen of errors, because the other objects also need ephemeris files and would let you know if the folder SwissEphemeris was not there.

so: your folder SwissEphemeris MUST ALREADY BE at
/Library/Application Support/Kairon/SwissEphemeris

maybe you did not realize that you have TWO Library folders, one at
/Library
and one at
<your loginname>/Library

please try to verify that.
This is all about /Library/....
and not about <your loginname>/Library/...

Downloading the asteroids in one file: this is not possible, and Astrodienst has discontinued purchasing their CDs, meanwhile they prefer the download... you will see, once you are familiar with it, you will be pretty fast in putting asteroid-files into their proper locations... all you need is an alias of the SwissEphemeris Folder in your Dock or on your Desktop and a Bookmark to the proper place at ftp.astro.ch :-)

meanwhile I found the swissephemeris in the library folder and copied a file of the list with the number of the asteroid into that file but no result

i am sorry, but can you copy paste the folder's names one by one into your message and also the file's name?
best you do it that way:
filename in
foldername in
foldername ...
and please, tell me the name of the asteroid you want to be displayed, too
this way i can find the mistake
:-)

I tried to find the asteroid chiron 2060 and lucifer 1930

in : Index of ftp://ftp.astro.com/pub/swisseph/ephemeris_files/ I saw

ftp://ftp.astro.com/pub/swisseph/ephemeris_files/ast20 ( listed as ast 20) and ftp://ftp.astro.com/pub/swisseph/ephemeris_files/ast193( listed as ast193 )
dragged these in the library folder SwissEphemeris

i see: you omitted the leading zero!!!

the message produced by kairon gives you the file
se02060s.se1 for Chiron and this file is not found at ast20 but at ast2....
as is written in your message you received when adding chiron 2060 to the preference: the message tells you both, the file and the folder.
you can copy the message text you receive by kairon, so it is easier to find the exact file.

so please, go back to your ftp client and fetch
ftp://ftp.astro.com/pub/swisseph/ephe/ast2/se02060s.se1
and put that into ast2
and fetch
ftp://ftp.astro.com/pub/swisseph/ephe/ast1/se01930s.se1
and put that into ast1

i just did this, and it worked, and i also see: this chiron is the same chiron as the one you find already defaulted by kairon... so you may only wish to go out for lucifer

and to make it perfekt:
edit the corresponding symbol for lucifer, you can use the font KaironSemiserif
and take the letter »
(this letter you get by copy pasting from the box below into Symbol on top -> see screenshot)
Image
and you will have a fine and easy identification of lucifer...
(see styles tutorial, if this screenshot is not enough)
