App Crashes when birth time is 18:00:00

I downloaded the app. last week and have been having fun with it. Today I entered data with a birth time of 18:30:00 It accepted all data and I was able to display the Radix, but when I click on 'Text' to view the details the app crashes.

This was the sixth file I have worked with and al the previous files worked fine. I played around with data until i figured what caused the crash and it was when the time of 18: is entered.. so 18:01 won't work or any variation of 18+ hrs

Any ideas on fixing this?

hi there, well, over here this doesn't happen, i just tried a chart with 18:28 for Vienna in year 2001... and also one for 18:00:00... it just displays fine over here. maybe you just need to reboot your iPhone or redownload the application, which is free of charge. Maybe it is a certain combination of Objects and Planets and Text Settings in Addition to 18:xx:xx ?
The moment i could reproduce this, i could look for a bugfix. So far, in all cases with crashes, it has been download errors and deleting and redownloading fixed those issues.

Thanks...

I think I may have found the error - or at least in my instance of this very same press-the-text-button-crash-the-app problem.

Under settings -> Kairon app - > under Display Options tap Text, Listings -> then turn off Nakshatras

This seems to be the problem point. It could be only for charts using the USA ephemeris. I am not sure.

What did not work for me: deleting Kairon and reinstalling it again and again; systematically deleting other apps, then reinstalling Kairon to see if it was an interaction between apps; hoping that an update would come out and/or the glitch would go away.

What did work was: playing around with the different text, listing options. Right now, I have all of the options on turned on except Nakshatras. And it works fine. If I turn Nakshatras on - the app crashes when I click text.

You really don't have to delete anything or loose your data if this is your problem or the problem.

I understand your frustration. I really hope this helps.

With warmth, Kynlan

hey, cool, this would mean that the font-management on iPhone and on iPad is different, because Nashatras uses some Devanagri letters.
(i don't have an iPad myself, but it is an argument to get one, at such inconsistency)
thank you!

problem solved - thank you!!

Thank you Kynlan,

That worked! ... and I didn't have to re-download anything or lose any information.

Now THAT's the kind of solution I like!

I appreciate your taking the time to post,

enjoy your week,

Warmly,

Ruth :D

i have to apologize here, it was not an error in font-management but in my code
anyways, the good news is: nakshatras are safe now, they will no longer crash in version 1.4 (which is available now as a free update) :)
