Date and time in text output?

Enter what you feel you would like to see implemented or changed in Kairon... your ideas will get implemented in some way or another, i will generally answer only to ask back, if something is not clear enough for my personal understanding... as my normal answer to feature requests is: "as soon as possible and thank you for your contribution" :)

Date and time in text output?

Post by rodsmith »

Hi Kilian,

a simple request, I hope its simple to implement

I'd like the ability to put the date and time of the current chart as part of the text output.

This would include natal and return data.

The purpose is to drop these data into a spreadsheet and work with them there.

If the date and time (or julian day UTC for that matter) appears in the txt, can be teased out int the spreadsheet. At present there is no easy means with which to do this.

Thanks

Rod

true, for now one has to switch to AAF-Data and press command-c and that has only an effect on the base-chart.

a good new feature,
thank you.

Generated Text with AAF #LPOS and #HPOS:

Post by kritikainanaliza »

Dear Kilian,

as Rod had suggested improving Text output so that it would be suitable for exporting to statistical/research spreadsheets etc., I am wondering about more straight forward solution (from exchange standard and programing viewpoint).
A new Tab between "AAF-File" and "Generated Text" named something like "Generated AAF". Where we would come with a single click and get the list of ALL records in the file with their #A93:, #B93:, #COM: and with generated #LPOS:(InnerPos) and #HPOS (Houses).

Example with two records in the file:

#A93:Cezanne,Paul,m,19.1.1839,1:00,Aix-En-Provence,F
#B93:2392758.526528,43n31,5e27,0e21:48,m
#COM:Frz. Maler. Pionier der modernen Malerei
#LPOS:SO28CP19:16,MO12PI56:26,ME05CP08:26,VE05AQ48:43,MA29VI16:42,

#LPOS:AC03SC34:16,MC11LE14:34
#HPOS:*,01SG54:25,05CP10:45,*,14VI25:28,11LI42:36

#A93:Chagall,Marc,m,7.7.1878,15:00,Vitebsk,WRS
#B93:2407173.041157,55n12,30e11,2e00:44,m
#COM:Frz. Maler und Grafiker,Illustrator, Buehnenbildner
#LPOS:AC10SC55:24,MC29LE02:10
#HPOS:PL,*,09SG30:18,17CP45:14,*,01LI03:01,23LI56:20
#LPOS:SO15CN12:59,MO17LI46:40,ME18CN47:43,VE08GE00:12,
MA09LE06:09,JU04AQ27:59,SA02AR52:03,UR27LE06:55,
NE09TA27:39,PL26TA03:31,NN14AQ42:50

This solution would be perfect for my needs and I think it would make Rod happy too.

Many thanks!

Hi Janez,

We're looking for something slightly different I think,

I'd like to be able to retrieve the data from a transit or return chart without creating the chart separately, but your idea also has merit.

Take Care
