Layout of text pages

Post by Lumo de Stelo »

I have been working with transits lately and want to be able to work on the layout for the texts. I haven't found any set-ups for the texts, maybe I'm just blind...

As it is now, I transfer the texts to a word processor to change names of planets etc into symbols. To stretch it even further I thought of writing a script to do it for me. But if that is manageable inside Kairon, it would be simpler.

It's me again ;-) Dunno if this will help you, but I just created
a droplet which replaces astrological terms with symbols.

<http://quinon.com/files/varia/DropKaironRTF-app.zip>

1. Save the content of Generated Text window as rtf;
2. Drop the rtf file onto DropKaironRTF.app;
3. A new rtf file will be generated and opened with TextEdit.

Please *never* change font, style, etc. in Generated Text
window. Otherwise the droplet won't work.

Not only "Sun", "Ari", "Trine" etc. will be replaced
with symbols from Kairon SemiSerif but also text font
will be changed to Optima. If you prefer Helvetica...

1. Open DropKaironRTF.app/Contents/Resources/script
with a text editor;
2. Comment out line 140 and uncomment line 141.

Dear Lumo,

in the help and also on the homepage there is an onlineTutorial describing some of Kairon's most basic text editing capabilities. Is what you mean by editing different from what is being written there? It would be of great help to improve the tutorials, if there was some direct feedback. Kairon's own text editor has search and replace functions, tabs, styles, customisable styles...
but in the future there will be also pregenerated styled texts.
It is just: more has been planned than realized yet .. ;-)
